On my grandmother’s side there are five generations of women healers. Becoming an Osteopathic physician felt like a natural step in my path after studying herbalism, Ayurveda, Osteopathy, and massage. Deciding between obstetrics and pediatrics was difficult which led me to become a family primary care physician. The thing I love most about what I do is taking care of families.
As I had children of my own the value of work life balance has become prominent. Working in insurance based, corporate medicine brought me away from my values. It made it harder for me to do what I went into medicine for-taking care of people and living in line with my own beliefs about health. The reason I got into medicine was to participate fully in the lives of other people. Increasingly, I noted hospital systems and insurance mandates creeping into my relationship with my patients, dominating choices. When I learned about direct primary care, I realized I could bring my personal values back to the primary care medicine I practice. I have structured Direct Osteopathic Primary Care around my values of autonomy, positive relationships and compassion. I look forward to sharing the journey of finding health and balance together.

I grew up in a small town in Western Massachusetts, went to college at the University of New Hampshire, and landed in Colorado after graduation; expecting to play in the mountains and stay for a year. One year has now evolved into 20 years! I did take a brief break from CO and lived in the mountains of Peru for four months as well as time I spent in Portland, Oregon at OHSU for PA school.
My entire career as a PA has been in family medicine caring for infants to geriatrics and providing prenatal care. I have worked solely in community medicine where about 80% of my patients were monolingual Spanish speakers. In addition to patient care, I have held leadership positions for the last seven years as an Assistant Medical Director and then Medical Director at Clinica, one of the largest and busiest community health clinics.
I live in Northwest Denver with my husband, two daughters, and our dog. We love to ski and play in the mountains any chance we get. I also love to travel, cook, do crossfit, and ride the peloton. I can easily get lost in a good book for hours.

I’m thrilled to join the incredible team at Direct Osteopathic Primary Care. My path has taken many twists and turns to get here, and as a result I bring a diversity of interests, experiences and education in support of your wellness goals.
I believe you are not the summation of your body parts, nor defined by your ailments; you are your lived experience as well. After years of navigating the constraints of the healthcare system, I consciously sought out a practice shift to a direct primary care model where the patient-provider relationship is at the center and the offerings are holistic.
Caring for your energetic body is just as essential to your overall wellness as supporting the health and longevity of your physical body. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to add Reiki to my clinical practice as it is so nourishing to the nervous system!

I grew up in coastal Virginia, crabbing and splashing in the waves. I completed an interdisciplinary degree in Latin American Studies with a heavy emphasis in Anthropology. This offered a foundational lesson for a future health+care provider: our stories are important; they are a part of us.
After graduation, I worked as a health educator for a nonprofit whose mission was to increase farmworkers’ access to care at migrant health centers. That’s when I realized my dream of becoming a nurse practitioner.
It was around then that I met a man from Denver and love brought me to Colorado. I attended the University of Colorado for my nursing and graduate education and spent 17 years working as a primary care provider in local community health centers before joining DOPC. My husband and I have 3 daughters, and we love spending time together indoors and outdoors. While I miss the ocean, I love the Colorado sunshine and enjoy outdoor activities in all four seasons.
